Prof. Dr. Md. Sazzat Hossain Sarker was born to Md. Fazler Rahman Sarker and Most. Zamela Begum on 15 November 1972. He passed SSC examination from Chandaikona ML High School, Sirajganj and HSC from Govt. Titumir Colelge, Dhaka. He earned his Bachelor and Master degree from Bangladesh Agricultural University. During Master’s he was awarded the NST Fellowship. He has an extensive professional job experiences in DAE, BMDA, TSC as Agril. Engineer, Assistant Engineer and Chief Instructor, respectively before joining as a Lecturer in Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU) on 9 January 2005. He achieved PhD degree on Drying from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in 2014. He was awarded the scholarship under Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) for his PhD study. He is now teaching important subjects related to food engineering and technology and conducting interesting research as a Professor (Grade 2) in the Dept. of Food Engineering & Technology in HSTU. He is a member of professional societies such as IEB, KIB and BSAE. He has supervised more than 25 Masters and three PhD students. He has published more than 60 scientific papers in the world class journals having high impact factor. He has patenting success on development of “HSTU Multi–crop Dryer” (Patent no. 1006640, Date: 04.04.2022). He has filed another patent application (Application No. BD/P/2023/228 Date: 07/09/2023) for getting Patent on HSTU mobile grain and seed dryer. His developed dryer is getting popularities among the farmers and rice processors. TV and social Medias have broadcasted his innovation massively. He also attended many international and national workshops, seminars and conferences as a participant and as a Keynote Speaker. Currently his research team is working on development of fruit and vegetable dryer and manufacturing of fortified products from dried fruits and vegetables and development and marketing of GBR fortified bakery products.
